It is 4 am and I am still awake listening to these kids snore. Restful sleep. They need it. It has been a week of fun, laughter, tears, amd hearts made new. Today we knew it was drawing to an end and it was bittersweet. We are all a little homesick and cannot wait to see our families and share what happened this week. We studies the story of David and Bathsheba. We talked about how sin can come in unnoticed when we let our guard down like David did. Tonight, we had 4 youth surrender to the will of God and ask him into their hearts. We had youth kneeling and praying to God for him to renew tham and help them with the tempation of wordly desires. I stood in a huddle as youth prayed over one another and watched as their friend gave in to Jesus. I have never witnessed something so moving as watching an 18 year old battle with receiving salvation. This is real folks
Our children are being drowned by the world and all it has to offer. They are yearning to be filled and are seeking it in ways that are destructive. I pray that these lessons this will stay with them and that they will tuck God's word in their heart and fight the temptation (and win) that will come in the days ahead. Thank you for praying for us and following along. What happened here was remarkable and can never be fully explained. I am ready for some rest and I am ready to share this week with our church on Sunday night. If you are near Second Baptist on Sunday at 6 pm. Please come. It will be worth it. I know it has been for me. What a week and I give God all of the glory.
Nite. Love ya'll.
